What if the library could send you an email when your book,
CD, or video was ready for you to pick up? Wouldn't that
be more convenient than a phone call or postcard? Now we
can! Simply fill out
the 'Get Your Notices
by Email form and click 'Sign Me Up!'. We will add
your email address to your library record.

Reads - Find best sellers lists, childrens
book award winners, mysteries, music recommendations,
teen interests and more on the Good
Reads page.

- Infotrac
Onefile (a Gale Group database) is a database of magazine
articles, many in full-text, from thousands of popular
magazines like Fortune, Business Week, Good Housekeeping
and People. Have your library card ready, and click
here to begin searching. You can also access Onefile
from the Quick Links menu on every page at www.plsinfo.org.

- New Online
Catalog- Look up books, CDs and DVDs, place holds and
renew items among other things on the new Online Catalog.
Give it a try! You can find a link to the Online
Catalog in the upper left corner of every page on this
site. If

Have a question? Any question? Ask a Reference librarian,
live on the web through the award-winning QandAcafe!

- Safari -
Safari offers technical books online. Browse books by category
or conduct searches across all of the technical books in
the Safari bookshelf. Research topics from XML, to database
to .Net.

- Sites
of the Month - Each month, our librarians compile a
list of timely websites of notable events, topics, and
birthdays such as Black History Month, Lunar New Year,
the Super Bowl, summer travel, and election day.

- Check
out the Student
Resource Center. This high school-oriented online resource
is only available to PLS cardholders. (To apply for a card, click
here.) With it, you have access to reference materials,
electronic versions of print periodicals and a wealth of
other resources based on high school curriculum.

over 100,000 recommended titles, more than 54,000 plot
summaries, and awards information from 561 awards, all
to help users uncover new reading adventures, find long-remembered
favorites, and discover award-winning titles.

- Wireless - We
all know libraries are hot spots – but now many have
wireless access too! Twenty-six
libraries in PLS currently offer wireless. Bring
in your wireless-enabled laptop or PDA, and avoid charges
for time, wifi subscriptions or 1-drink minimums. Most
users can just detect the network when they start up. For
more information, take a look at our wireless
FAQs. Call ahead to inquire about availability
of power outlets.
