	Whale Rider by Witi Tame Ihimaera Kahu must prove to her Grandfather that she is the next leader of their Maori tribe, even though she's just a girl. The movie is almost as good.
	The Grounding of Group 6 by Julian F. Thompson A group of 16-year olds think they're going to an exclusive boarding school on a remote island, only to find out they're going to be murdered.
	Eragon by Christopher Paolini Now is the time to read this epic adventure about Eragon and his dragon companion written by a teenager. The sequel is due out in August. If you loved the Lord of the Rings movies, try this one.
	Luna : a novel by Julie Anne Peters Being true to yourself is one form of heroism. Liam decides to tell his family he is a girl trapped in a boy's body in this sensitive novel about family relationships and identity.
